The Moorings

Located inside the City of Naples is The Moorings. Naples has been named the Happiest Place to live in the United States for a number of years, and neighborhoods like The Moorings are one of the reasons why.

Where is The Moorings?

The eastern boundary of The Moorings is US 41 and the western boundary is the Gulf of Mexico. Binnacle Drive is the northern boundary and just north of Orchid Drive considered the southern boundary. The Moorings consists of around 4,000 homes and condominiums.

Schools near The Moorings

The Moorings is in the Collier County School District. The Collier County system has one of the highest concentrations of top-ranked public schools in Florida. Naples High School is the nearest high school and ranks in the top half of high schools in the state.  Gulfview Middle School, which is ranked within the top 10% in the state provides education for grades 6-8 and Lake Park Elementary, another top 10% school educates grades K-5. The south campus of Mason Classical Academy is located nearby and serves students from K-8. This charter school is ranked in the top 5% of schools in the state.

There are a number of private school options near the Moorings, including St. John Neumann Catholic High School, ranked in the top 20% of private schools in the state, and St. Ann School, another top 20% school that serves PreK-8th grade.

Things to Do

Residents of Collier County enjoy free parking at the city and county-run beaches, but residents of The Moorings have an even bigger perk. Members of The Moorings Property Owners Association have access to Moorings Beach Park, an exclusive beach located north of the public Lowdermilk Park. The historic Naples Pier is also nearby.

Just a few miles south of Naples is The Everglades National Park. The Everglades spread over 1.5 million acres and is home to a diverse ecosystem that contains numerous rare and endangered species like the West Indian manatee, American crocodile, and the Florida panther.

Shopping and Entertainment

Nearby downtown Naples boasts world-class shopping opportunities. The Fifth Avenue South district contains numerous art galleries, fine jewelry stores, and apparel retailers. Dining options range from ​​5th Avenue Coffee Company & 6th Street Diner or Kilwin’s of Naples to upscale dining at Truluck’s or Chops City Grill. The district also hosts events, including the monthly “Evenings on Fifth” to art shows and an annual car show hosted by the Naples Chapter of the Ferrari Club of America.

Also nearby is Tin City. This specialty shopping district gives you access to local artists, home décor, and apparel. All shops in Tin City are locally owned, with no chain stores.
